The excitement of unpredictability.
The heart pumps double its pace, and is pulled heavy by its weight.
Awakened by urgency, stimulated by thrill
and intrigued by curiosity.

Consumed by this new lust,
dismantled is my feelings of old love for another.
Her appeal suppresses my loyalty,
And summons the ego.

The ego tested continuously
by the growth of the seed of temptation
that’s been planted,
from the first time the thought of “what if”
crossed paths with the thought of “what could be”.

The scale weighing the certain benefits
against the potential repercussions compromised...
and made askew by the ego.

Here I am gambling an old love
for a new lust.

Judgement between right and wrong is fairly vivid...
but the promising rewards seem far too greater
than the consequences
of later.
