Nicholas Graff
We All Sing America
We all sing America-
We are the Eagle
Brave and Courageous
We are the fifty stars
We shine brightly, alone,
But in Unity we stand strong
We are the red, white, and blue
Driven by unity and diversity
We honor the darker brother
We honor sisters of all colors
We should not look at the color of our skin,
But in the color of our blood;
On the inside we are one and the same
A division of us, the American brother, is a shame.
Hand-in-hand;
Arm-in-arm,
We, the American Brother, sing our song-
We are United, as it should have been all along
Division of us, the American brothers, was wrong
We all sing America.
About Nicholas
Nicholas Graff is a student at Holy Family University, and an aspiring poet. He is nineteen years old and a Philadelphia native. Nicholas has always had an interest in writing and has found a significant pleasure in writing poetry specifically. He says his poems tend to focus on more political and social issues because both of those things pique his interests. One of the most important things to know about Nicholas and the reason why he enjoys poetry/writing is because you are given a voice and within today’s society not many people harness their voice in order to speak out and express themselves. Poetry has allowed Nicholas to do just that and find a voice where he is free to speak out.
