Maura Golebiowski
Drifters
Drift,
Drifters,
Drifting,
Aren’t we all?
Sand drifts
And the wind its guide,
Clouds drift, light
Upon air...
A feather drifts
On the water, floating,
Not sure where.
The water will lead.
Perhaps it’s alright,
To drift,
To let nature
Move.
To be moved,
And released,
And pushed,
And transported...
In our drifting,
Perhaps we will,
Find something,
Worthwhile,
Unlock
Some special secret,
About ourselves
Or one another,
To what direction
Will we drift,
Have faith
In the drifting,
Faith in the motion,
That movement of self.
For as we begin to drift,
Our journey has already begun...
