Lydia Gibbon

Synethesia

I can see you in the dark.
As I dream late at night
with only you beside me,
a piercing light begins to flash,
but you cannot see it.
The sharpened twinkle burns me,
drawing me closer with every sting.
It brings me to tears.
My burning eyes then soothed by a sound
that fills the empty space before me
with visions of emerald skies,
all when I hear your voice.
Reassuring whispers turn into paintings
of intricate noise that glows green.
A sight of music, a sound of art
that can only be described as
you.
